Some Interesting Convention News

Al Roker to broadcast from local 'Office'

Posted in Times-Tribune:

"The Office" Convention has at least one celebrity on its bill.

NBC News has confirmed Al Roker, the amiable weatherman on the "Today" show, will be in downtown Scranton on Oct. 26 broadcasting for the show from the convention, which kicks off that morning and runs through Oct. 28.

The convention will feature a number of events tied to the Scranton-set NBC sitcom, and planners are hoping to lure several of the show's cast members to take part.

On Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p.m., the convention committee will hold a preconvention expo at the Radisson at Lackawanna Station hotel for businesses and individuals who want to get involved with the event.
